History Museums The Westfjords West of Iceland

Ósvör Maritime Museum

Ósvör is a reconstruction of a 19th century fishing station. The curator, dressed in a traditional fisherman’s outfit, leads visitors through the station showing them the houses, the fishing boat, and tools used for fishing and fish processing in days gone by. An insight into the harsh conditions fishermen faced in centuries past in the Westfjords.
