Snorrastofa Cultural Centre in Reykholt

Snorrastofa is founded in the memory of Snorri Sturluson, Iceland‘s most important sagawriter, chieftain and lawspeaker, who settled in Reykholt 1206 and was murdered there in the fall of 1241. Snorralaug (Snorri’s pool) is the most famous ancient structure in Iceland. Snorrastofa manages research projects, runs a library, a gift shop and provides exhibitions and reception for tourists. The Reykholt Music Festival, is an annual event in the church, the last weekend in July.
