The Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum exhibits works by the modernistic sculptor Sigurjón Ólafsson (1908-1982). It was founded by the artist’s widow, who had their home and his studio at Laugarnes converted to house a large collection of his sculptures, sketches and biographical material. The museum also sponsors various cultural programmes and its weekly summer concerts have become popular events in the cultural life of Reykjavík.
