Geothermal Energy Exhibition

The Geothermal Energy Exhibition at the Hellisheiði Power Plant.
The Hellisheiði Power Plant is the largest, single-site geothermal power plant in the world that has tremendous potential to be expanded in the future. The power plant has a beautiful visitor’s centre that hosts an interactive and informative geothermal energy exhibition that is open daily from 9 am–5 pm. Experienced tour guides are available to provide further information about the history, technology and use of geothermal energy in Iceland.
The exhibition has on display a collection of rare rocks and minerals owned by dr. Einar Gunnlaugsson. There is also an interactive presentation explaining the geothermal production process as well as a short film about the origins of geothermal energy and much more! We have a cozy coffee shop that serves delicious coffee and light snacks. Perfect for your own energy needs!
We look forward to seeing you!
