Ásgrímur Jónsson (1876–1958) is one of the pioneers of Icelandic art. He bequeathed all his works and belongings to the Icelandic people after his day.
The Ásgrímur Jónsson Collection is a special division of the National Gallery of Iceland. The Ásgrímur Jónsson Museum hosts the artist’s studio and home. The museum regularly holds exhibitions of the artist’s works.
