The Akureyri Art Museum aims to promote visual arts and culture in the local community as well as in a wider global context. The museum is conveniently situated in the town centre in Listagil (Art Street). The museum hosts several diverse art exhibitions showcasing the works of artists, young and old, Icelandic and international, featuring everything from illustrations and photography to performance art and installations.
